| A typical GPS unit will include the following key components. - External antenna connection - Allows the insertion of an external antenna. - Main menu button - Pressed to cycle to the main menu screen. - Memory card slot - Card must be inserted face up. - Navigation buttons - To cycle through the map software. - Power button - Pressed to turn the power off or on. - Reset button - Press to restart the gps, incase of errors etc. - Speaker - Facilitates the production of the direction instructions. - USB socket - Used for power adapter, or USB cable to a personal computer. - Volume control - Control the volume of the inbuilt car hifi speakers.
