retro design of a magimix toaster

Magimix have launched a line of new toasters, the two retro styled toasters are called,

  1. Le Toaster 2
  2. Le Toaster 4

The above picture is of the '2' model, the only difference between the models is the toasting capacity, with the '4' model having twice the room. The vision toaster has a similar control panel, but has a unique clear perspex design,

The Magimix toaster has come under some criticism for it's similar design style to Dualit. Dualit's design goes back fifty years and is generally recognised as a design classic.

Magimix are a respected French manufacturer who lay claim to inventing the modern food processor. Like most successful modern day manufacturer's, they have ventured out to making other small appliances such as toasters and kettles.

Magimix are a high end brand and their Le Toaster is priced at over one hundred pounds, and directly competes with Dualit.

Perhaps the success of both companies is their original roots of designing product for commercial and professional use.

With consumers sick of cheap feature laden products which break in a short space of time, there appears to be widespread demand for stylish, simple, reliable and well built small appliances.
