GPS tour guide for children

A new sat nav guidance system has been launched solely for children. Dubbed 'totnav', it provides a display, commentary and locations which will be of interest to youngsters. It of course makes sure to deal with the age old question of most young children, ' Are we there yet?'. The guide was not a simple process of creation, taking in the region of five years to develop, it was paintakingly researched, says it's creators RoadTour.

Surveys were conducted by RoadTour to make sure children would have positive reactions to the locations and information displayed. The guide comes with plenty of 'locations of interests', totaling nearing three thousand. Whilst the guide may be disparaging to some adult locations, such as museams and opera houses, it still provides functional data such as entrance admission fees and opening hours.

The guide can be downloaded online, and currently costs ten pounds. It's also compatible with all the major GPS sat nav brands, such as Garmin and TomTom. RoadTour's full trip UK tour guide costs thirty pounds, so some may say ten pounds for the child's guide represents good value for money.

One may wonder if a navigation system aimed soley for kids may annoy the adults instead. A RoadTour representative says he hopes the balance is right, just enough information to keep adults informed, but enough humour and sass to keep the children entertained.

The main aim of RoadTour was finding the correct child friendly locations, places which were welcoming and fun for a young family. Most locations are advertised to appeal to kids, with facts such as, a castle being the shooting location for HarryPotter.
