BT recently contacted about a brand new service they were offering
called ' BT Total Broadband'. They promised an improved surfing
experience, I work from home using the Web so it sounded promising.
I had suffered intermittent connection problems with BT for years
and this caused problems with my business. The new 'Total Broadband'
package arrived around 3-4 months ago and came with a 'BT Home Hub'
which is a white monolith box that can connect to your PC wirelessly,
by usb or by an ethernet cable. I picked the ethernet cable and
within days did start receiving an improved connection speed and
reliability. This all ended yesterday when I turned on my computer,
the 'Home Hub' was only displaying the 'Data' logo as green and
all the other logo like 'broadband' had gone blank. My computer
over night was not recognising the 'Home Hub', I quickly phoned
up BT support and was on the phone to India for hours and hours.
They were hopeless, I couldn't understand most of the instructions
and they would abruptly say 'Good-bye' and disappear when everything
they suggested didn't work. I had in this time reinstalled everything
but the Hub was only displaying the 'data' logo as green still.
I called in a local PC repairman but he couldn't make head nor tail
of it. I finally just reverted to using my previous Voyager modem,
I spent a few days and quite a bit if money on this disaster.
