I admit I love the place, I am one of those freaks who visits every
week and thought nothing of driving over 100 miles to the cloesest
store before the Derby/Nottingham store opened. Reasons I am so
addicted to Ikea is the size and selection to pick from, the affordable
price, and the fact it's slightly different from the usual crap
you find in MFI, DFS or the other UK furniture superstores. The
stock at Ikea is so huge you can easily furnish a house from top
to toe. Some people may find this confusing and disorintating, so
it may not be to everyone's taste. The sale items are also fantastic,
the last item I bought was a pair of tab-top curtains for just £2.00.
There are actually really good quality and for two quid it's an
amazing bargain. It is a shame that many of their items do not seem
so 'weird' and 'strange' as before, because many over English companies
seem to be copying their designs. For parents they also have an
area you can leave the kids of a certain age (sadly just for half
an hour I think ), they can be happy and play in the ball pond while
being fully supervised and with excellent security. I can think
of no UK company who offered this kind of service before Ikea did.
The foodhall is also good value for money, and my husband loves
the hot dog stand on the way out.

Cheap
but now not worth the headache
Don't what ever you do get your kitchen from Ikea. They have the
worst customer service I have ever encountered. I tried to change
a few items that I ordered (the very next day) and have now been
calling 4 times a day since 3 October and have still not received
the correct revised delivery. Croydon store is a disaster, they
have no idea what is going on and you can't get a straight answer
from anyone.
