Like with virtually every ISP I read about the technical support
is exceptionally poor. Every computer differs and I suspect support
staff just do not have the training or know how to fix every problem,
or even half of them. Tiscali go one step further however, they
do not even seem capable of answering questions of the most simple
nature, and are unwilling to honestly speak about connection issues.
I have spent hours sending dozens of emails to the support staff
address, they fail to understand basic computing terms and their
solutions beggarbelief at times. Phoning them up will frustrate
even more, it's not free and you'll be on hold for 10 minutes at
least. The end result will be to blame everything but themselves.
I had a brand spanking new PC which was working 100% perfectly,
but they seemed to wish to blame everything on hardware issues my
end. Everything indicated that the problem was theirs, but they
were not honest enough to admit to it.
After 16 months with Tiscali I am now ready to migrate. The support
call charges and general frustration with the servicehas cost me
in the long-term.Unlimited broadband for £9.99 sounds tempting,
but once you beginusing the service for any considerable time your
connection speed begins to drop. The connection speed crawls so
slow I usually just log off after 5-10 minutes. I'd complain to
Trading Standard if it would achieveanything. I am sure they are
in breach of contract. But I guess the fine print will save them.
Tiscali are either a dishonest company who refuse to live up to
their signup offer, or are so clueless to not know the cause or
solution to the problem.
