Jack of all trades, master of none, this pretty sums up the Woolworths
chain of stores. I guess they are very useful for the small towns
doted up and down this green and wonderful country. But if I lived
and shop in a major urban conurbation like 'Manchester' why would
I shop there? I cannot think of a single reason to be blunt. There
selection of products are limited for every single area, be it toys,
CD's, games, clothes, gardening tools or anything else. The best
selection they have is probably for sweets and drinks. The good
old sweet shop seems in short supply these days, and even though
'pic n mix' are expensive they at least cater for a rare item these
days. The sales/prices are also expensive, if I wanted toys I'd
go to toysrus, dvds I'd go to HMV, games I'd go to 'Game.net' and
clothes anywhere else that's sells them. But like I said before
many small towns have none of these stores, and woolworths must
be the only game in town.

Bought two xbox games for my sons for Christmas presents, when
opened on Christmas day one box was missing the disc and of course
one unhappy little boy. I had no desire to leave the house on boxing
day, but because my son was so upset I battled against the traffic
and lost 2 hours of my day asking for a replacement.
