Braun

Braun, alongside Philips, are the largest constructor of electric shavers. While Philips have continued to concentrate on building rotary electric shavers, Braun have always been the largest and most successful brand of foil electric shavers.

Braun have built a wide selection of small electronic devices. But, their grooming and personal hygiene products (shavers and electric toothbrushes) have continued to be the mainstays and best sellers of the business.

Braun are a German company founded by Max Braun. The company was started in Frankfurt and is now head quartered in Kronberg, Germany. Braun's first products were audio equipment, such as radio's. Only by the 1950's did they begin building electric shavers.

The company is US owned. A controlling interest was bought by Gillette in the nineteen sixties, and in turn Gillette were purchased by another American company, Procter and Gamble, in the year two thousand and five.

Braun's shavers are now categorised into a range of 'Series'. The series range from one to seven. There is also a range of mobility shavers. In price and features, 'Series Seven' are the best shavers offered by Braun.

A modern day Braun Series Seven is capable of producing ten thousand micro vibrations. This ensures that more hair is captured, resulting in a quicker and closer shave. Braun have also patented 'OptiFoil', a foil that's designed for the closest shave to date.

The majority of Braun's series feature a flexible head to navigate the difficult neck and chin area. And a three pronged cutting element. This ensures that no hair is missed, and that one cutting element can focus upon short hair, and another element upon long hair.
