Cafe Mocha

The mocha builds upon the latte, like a latte it's base is an espresso and steamed milk.

But the addition is chocolate, either in a powder or syrup format. Usually it is syrup.

Sometimes even the coffee beans selected are a species with a flavour of chocolate.

The top of the mocha usually has a swirl of whipped cream.

But the top can also be simple steamed milk or a marshmallow.

The drink is named after a town in Yeman, which is termed Mocha or Mokha.

Mocha is a coastal town and a sea port which is close to the Red Sea.

The first coffee bean brought to Europe from Mocha is believed to have been by Marco Polo.
