Latte

Latte is the Italian word for milk. And Caffe the French for coffee.

Therefore, by simple deduction, Caffe Latte is simply coffee and milk.

However, a Latte has become a term in itself. With a few variants to the drink.

To begin with let's examine how the best known Latte is made, which is of course the Caffe Latte.

It's simple espresso entered into a cup, and then milk is added to it.

The other well known latte is the Latte Macchiato. This is made differently.

Milk is entered in the cup, and then the espresso, which makes up the Macchiato.

Sometimes a small amount of frothy milk is placed on top of the Macchiato.

The Macchiato usually has a weaker coffee taste out of the two.

The milk for both Latte's is steamed.
