One of the latest features for hifi systems is an iPod dock. While CD is far from being obsolete, hifi manufacturers are keenly aware that habits are changing, and that many people have music collections stored in iPods and iPhones, rather than in compact discs and vinyl records. The hifi equipment industry now refers to iPod compatible hifi systems as 'Made for iPod', and iPhone compatible hifi systems as 'Works with iPhone', as the above industry logo's outline. The logo indicates that the hifi system is more than just a compatible match for a iPod/iPhone, but, is certified by Apple that it meets their own performance standards. Recent Update: Apple have just released a new logo, which is their 'Made for iPod iPhone iPad' logo, which, replaces their older 'Works with iPhone' logo.
