When it comes to sound quality, bespoke manufacturer's generally assert that their mains cables are capable of producing more detail and focus, alongside removing background noise, to make for a cleaner sound. While a conventional mains plug and cord costs in the region of £2-£5, a high end plug and cord can cost in the region of £50 (with a cord in the region of 1 metre's long).
