Receiver

A receiver is an integrated amplifier with an added feature, a tuner. The picture above is of an atypical receiver, which is usually larger in height to a standalone amplifier. A receiver will usually feature a combination of a preamplifier, a power amplifier and a tuner. In the past a receiver was simple a integrated stereo amplifier and a tuner, however, some receivers have now evolved to include a surround sound amplifier and a digital tuner.
