Fitting advice for bras

Underwear and lingerie should not be confused with one another. Derived from the French language, the word 'lingerie' applies to underwear which has an erotic design which arouses. Possible due to British modesty, and of course, restraint, it can still be embarrassing for ladies and men to shop for lingerie on the high street.

Indeed, this is especially the case for men, usually looking for a birthday or Christmas gift. Of course, it is fair to question who in fact the gift is being purchased for. But, what can be concluded, is that the Internet has become a godsend, and the avenue of course, for men looking for lingerie as a present.

The chief drawback with buying lingerie online is purchasing the correct size and fit. Bras can be problematic, especially over a size D, because the various brands do not stick to exact regulations. The brands from the UK, US and Europe also differ in their sizing regulations.

For example when it comes to bra sizes for the UK and US brands; they stick to the same regulations from size A to size D, but after those sizes they alter.

UK - US

DD - DD/E
E - DDD/F
F - G
FF - H
G - I
GG - J
H - K
HH - L
J - M
JJ - N

Alot of women also have one breast larger than the other, it's advised to get a bra which fits the larger breast first. A breast which bulges at the top of the bra cup indicates that the bra cup isn't large enough.

If the underband of a bra is digging in the back, this means the band is over sized. An over stretched underband means the opposite. There are plus size fittings for most lingerie items.
