| Research conducted by psychologists from Yale University (based in the United States) has appeared to suggest that holding a hot cup of coffee produces positive thoughts of other people. Furthermore, a more caring and overall generous frame of mind was nurtured. The research claims that immediately after holding a hot mug of coffee, the person was more likely to give away something for free. Coincidentally people holding a cold cup of coffee were likely to do the opposite. The research proceeded by asking volunteers to either hold a mug of hot or cold coffee, then give a psychological assessment of an individual. There are a few hypnosis why people see others more generously when being warm. But, the most popular theory is that when the infant first comes into contact with it's mother, the sensation was warm. And, being parted from it's mother was a cold sensation. What is clear however, being warm impacts greatly on our behaviour. Imaging tests showed a logical explanation for this. Indicating that the same process in the human brain dictates both psychological and physical responses to warmth. Therefore, can we expect psychologist to recommend coffee makers as a solution to a happy existence? possible, what we do have is an explanation as to why people ask others to come 'in for a cup of coffee' after a hot date.
