Ordered
goods on day one, shipped day two, its been eight days now and I have still not
received my goods. Tried to call, but no answer, just voicemail. Sent numerous
emails but never got one response. Waiting to resolve this, but I will never use
this company again or recommend its use to anyone. Might be cheap, but not worth
it, since there is a very high chance that you will not receive your goods.

Goods
ordered Tuesday 12 July 06, payment taken 13 July 06, goods received 18 July 06.
I don't appreciate the delay in lead time but the item did arrive on the 5th working
day after ordering. Problems I encountered were: 1 - Unable to log into my
account, every time I input email address and password I was returned to the log
in page. So, no order tracking facility there then. 2 - The phone number
provided in other reviews on this site really does go unanswered and defaults
to BT Answerphone. 3 - They don't like you sending more than 1 email in
any 48 hour period, very annoying when you are trying to obtain information from
them. I will not be using this company again. The benefit of hindsight is
a marvellous thing but only now can I advise that their customer service sucks
and you really are left with an empty feeling that the goods will never turn up.
I'm still amazed that my (incorrectly advertised and therefore bloody useless)
item did get to me. By User - Disgruntled User

Was promised delivery for Wednesday (for a birthday gift, they
were told I needed it for Wednesday) its now Friday and still no
goods. No response to numerous emails, found their phone number
rang that, nothing but an answering service with a full mailbox.
Has cost me a fortune having someone wait in to sign for the delivery
which hasnt arrived, and datakits wont even supply me a tracking
number. Will never deal with this company again.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I have been waiting for delivery of an

only get through to an answerfone. No response from them AT ALL!

I would not deal with this company - put
"Datakits reviews" into Google and you will find myriad complaints. The
only way I found to get my money back was to take them to the small claims court.
I have today got my money back (bought online in Dec 06) it's now May 07. www.moneyclaim.gov.uk
is the small claims website. Write them a letter saying they have 14 days
to pay back the money or else you will take court action (called a 'letter before
action' or LBA). My order was for about £60 but in the end Datakits had
to pay over £200 because of interest, court fees etc. The bailiff
in charge of my case said he had a 'good number' of cases with Datakits. It's
just not worth the risk. By User - Trevor User

about this online scammer
I placed an order for 6 items totaling £78
on 22 September, paid through PayPal immediately and 3 days later when checking
the status of my order it was "Awaiting PayPal Payment". I e-mailed
them, and got an automated response. 2 days later I e-mailed again, and got yet
another automated response. I then tried the "Live chat" on their site,
and amazingly enough a real person replied. I was told they did see that payment
was made on 22 September (it was then 1 October) and updated the account. 2 October
I logged in, and saw that it was now "Dispatched". 1 week later still
nothing in the mail, so I e-mailed their complaints@datakits.com address stating
that if I did not receive a response from a real person as to how they would resolve
the problem I would file a complaint through PayPal. 1 hour later another automated
response, filed a complaint with PayPal, and within 2 hours my money was refunded.
Save your money people, DataKits is a total scam site and needs to be shut
down. They have NO customer service, and is most likely run by a single person
at a computer with no goods to sell. A complete waste of 3 weeks waiting for items
that would never have been sent. Never again. User Rating -

Lies,
bloody lies!
My Apple earphones broke (I got sand in them... heh), so I
looked to Google shopping to find the cheapest price for a new pair. Up pops Datakits,
with £12.99 earphones. Seems too good to be true, I thought, so I checked
out the site and decided that they must be the real deal, as Datakits used: 1)
Images of Apple earphones (Although they were stock images... but the following
reasons seemed to redeem this) 2) A description which says 'Apple' many times
3) The Apple logo. So I happily order them. They come 3-5 days
later, as promised. In a silver plastic vacuum pack. Not the Apple black box.
The earphones are bigger than Apple's. They are the wrong shape. The 'L'
and 'R' letters are dark. The wire is bright white, where Apple's is pale
grey.
So they're complete fakes. They do produce sound, but I wanted to
get Apple ones specifically, because they're about the only earphones that fit
in my ears (for some reason) and because well, I wanted them to match my iPod. I
was mainly annoyed because Datakits CLEARLY STATED that they were Apple! So I
emailed them and my reply, when taken out of its seemingly polite packaging, was
along the lines of I was incredibly mistaken and wouldn't know real Apple earphones
if they smacked my in the face with a large cod. So, just out of decency
I got my old broken earphones which were most definitely Apple as they came with
the bloody iPod, and emailed back with a list of comparisons. They said
I could return them for a refund as long as I had some obscure code that I'm not
even sure existed. Never shop at Datakits. Ever. User Rating

a bloody shambles - paid immediately wioth Paypal. 2.5 weekas later still no product.
10 emails or so later someone eventually got up off their fat arses and advised
me that they hadnt received payment (lie). Eventually after opening a dispute
with Paypal, this trader immediately advised me that payment had been made but
that they didnt have an address to send the item to (lie #2). Then they said
that they had sent it out (odd as 10 mins previously they "didnt have my
address". Curious! Then they said that my last email was the first that they
had received (despite my emailing all 5 email addresses on their website each
time) (lie#3). Then the rude "customer support/complaints" person said
that it had all been my fault as my email address that I used when registering
with them (at the same time as giving my address - see lie#3 above) was different
to my paypal account! No one said that you had to use the same email address for
both! Oh, when the data cable for my phone did arive, my PC anti-virus softward

a pain - no communications and a long wait
The memory card I ordered came

After no communications at all, and needing the card, I ordered one from another
(Amazon) vendor which came in the same mail (delivered in 3 days), cost less and
is a 'known' brand. I will stick with reputable sellers. I believe this
is a pretty bad company - especially in regard to communications - but I don't
agree with those complaining about quality of the goods when they bought purely
on price. You generally get what you pay for. By User - bung

got a cheap product Took
ages and gave me a headache
I recieved my product today finally, after about
2 weeks and 1 useless telephone call and three emails. In reference to the person
who has been waiting three weeks...you should write to them and quote the Consumer
Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 because 19(2) and 19(4) state that
if there is lack of performance within the stipulated time the supplier must either
inform or reimburse any sum paid by or on behalf of the consumer under or
in relation to the contract to the person by whom it was made. This will
be done as soon as possible and in any event within a period of 30 days
beginning with the day after the day on which the period for performance expired.
If they do not do either of these, they are in breach of EU law and should be
reported to Trading Standards Consumer Direct. In any event..maybe go on that

I ordered a 16GB SDHC card from Datakits, with standard delivery
between 2-5 days. I received it on the 5th working day after the
order, so not as prompt as I would have liked, but I still got the
item. I have only rated datakits 3 out of 5 because I ordered one
small product from them, and it is not representative of their entire
stock inventory (I have also heard other people got their memory

So although I cannot recommend them for larger items, You shouldn't

It appears this company has been ripping people off for over 2
yrs. I just got done. They are registered as "dissolved"
on the Companies House website which means they probably shouldn't
even be trading. If you can, may be worth reporting to: support@sagepay.com
(These guys handle their payments) also send your story to BBC WatchDog
http://www.bbc.co.uk/watchdog/gotastory/. And also the trading stardards
in Portsmouth where this company is registered "trading.standards@portsmouthcc.gov.uk'.
This website needs to be shut down urgently as they still stealing
money. They are obviously crooks because if you threaten to take
them them to court etc you can get your goods or money back. They
basically make their money out of those who can't be bothered to
chase them. Fortunately I only lost £45 but I imagine people
have lost a lot more.

I doubt that its CE marking is appropriate.
Website claims "recorded delivery" will be used, butit's
normal postage (£2.99 in each case). To cap it all the website
security certificate has failed today - maybe hijacked? Avoid.

Criminals
Site looks credible with a decent domain name but don't be deceived,
though if you're reading this, it is probably too late. Equally,
don't let them get away with it; everybody should report these guys.
The company is marked as 'dissolved' which means it has been liquidated
and shouldn't have access to a merchant business account - look
them up on:

If you've got the money, hire a private investigator to find out
who they are and then we'll all chip in for some heavies to go sort
em out.

Thieves
I reported them to the guys I thought were hosting this company
and although they were no longer providing server hosting, they
were supplying DNS Hosting which, guess what, they weren't still
paying for. So currently their site is down but I'm sure it'll pop
up again.

Item
eventually arrived !!!!!!!!!!!
It took legal threats before my goods arrived - would not buy from
again!!
I ordered some ipod speakers from Datakits and received an email
stating the order had gone through and another email the following
day saying the order had been despatched - good so far. After 5
days nothing emailed them back - nothing, emailed again - nothing,
phoned and left a message - nothing, and emailed complaints - nothing!!!
After the 5 days when my order had not arrived I read all the bad
reviews and thought I would never receive my ipod speakers!!!! I
read one review that suggested to email mike@datakits.co.uk stating
I have contacted Consumer Direct who advised writing to Datakits
in line with Trading Standards Customer Protection Selling Regulations
2000. I then wrote if I don't hear from you within 48 hours to say
I have a refund or my goods will be sent out immediately this will
become a legal matter. Guess what - I received a reply from Mike
and my goods arrived 2 days later.

Everything
they do
Similar situation - took money, said item had been despatched,
didnt arrive. Complained to Paypal, after several e-mails &
phone calls unanswered, then escalated dispute to claim. In meantime
Datakits replied to my first message saying that the missing goods
had been "found" by Royal Mail and would be with me in
a couple of days. I asked for proof of posting and once again got
no reply - also nothing arrived!! A fdew days later Paypal sent
me an e-mail telling me they had found in my favour on the claim
and would be refunding me the full cost (£54.95 + P&P).
Thank God for them! If I had read all these reports in the first
place I would never had used Datakits, but now I have reported them
to the Portsmouth Trading Standards people. I find it amazing that
they can still be trading with this appalling record that goes back
over 3 years!
