Vacuum cleaners tools and attachments

The majority of modern vacuum cleaners now come with a selection of attached tools. The tools themselves are generally attached to a quick draw wand.

Most wands can be easily reversed so that the wand can be held at different angles, therefore the handle gives a solid grip to reach awkward spots.

Below is listed some of the common attachments available for purchase with a new vacuum.

Crevice tool

A simple piece of plastic which fits atop a quick draw wand. It's ideal for cleaning along skirting boards and in tight corners.

Dusting nozzle / brush

Ideal for dislodging age old dust and cobwebs. The stiffness of the bristles dictates whether the brush should be used for heavy use or delicate areas.

Low reach tool

A tool which has been designed to clean under furniture such as tables, cupboards, beds, chairs and sofas. Unlike the crevice tool it can clean larger areas of bare floor or carpet.

Upholstery tool

Designed to deal with delicate furnishings. It's aim is to gently remove dirt and dust from curtains, sofas, mattresses, cushions and upholstery. Just like with the other tools it can be quickly attached to either a hose or wand.
