| Traditionally, a cylinder vacuum relays on suction. This is clearly still
the case, but a few cylinder cleaners have incorporated a suction head
which includes a brush. Cylinder vacuums are lighter and smaller than
there upright counterparts. So you can store them, and carry them around
with ease. Ideal for small apartment, with no wide expanses of carpet.
They are ideal for intricate small spaces, such as stairs and upholstery,
but require more effort to push and vacuum large rooms. They are also
superior at cleaning wooden or tiled floors because they use a suction
system.A beater bar upright vacuum makes hard work of this task. Traditionally, a upright vacuum relies on a beater bar (rotating brush). Likewise upright vacuum's have crossed over and use suction technologies in combination with a beater bar. Upright cleaners are typically recommended for people with a bad back, because they require less bending down and effort to push. They also clean wide expanses of carpet with ease. They are more difficult to use in intricate surrounding, and do not clean corner and edges as well as cylinder vacuum's. But, with the latest add-on hoses, and crevice nozzles they are improving in this respect.
